Position Summary Information

Job Summary

Regis Neighborhood Health is a clinic in Northwest Denver that provides preventive and personalized health services to area residents and Regis University employees. It is part of Cultivate Health, an initiative by Regis University, private developers, and partners to provide the neighborhood with access to healthy food, physical activities, and health care.

The Medical Administrative Assistant offers a welcoming presence to the patients of Regis Neighborhood Health and provides the administrative support necessary for the smooth, efficient functioning of the clinic. Of utmost importance is the protection of patient confidentiality and ensuring the clinic maintains HIPAA compliance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Provides administrative support to Regis Neighborhood Health (100%)
•Schedules patients for medical examinations, laboratory tests, and consultations.
•Assists patients or family members with completion of forms.
•Relays information to patients regarding preparation for laboratory tests and examinations.
•Obtains pre-certifications or authorizations as required by patients’ health care insurers or managed care providers.
•Greets patients, answers telephone, screens callers, and continually checks and relays messages.
•Ensures the readiness of the reception area for each working day. Opens the office at the designated time and has all front desk activities fully operational at the start of business hours.
•Secures the work area at the close of each work period and secures the office/building at the close of each working day.
•Maintains files related to Regis Neighborhood Health.
•Provides administrative support to faculty and student health care providers.
•Coordinates with providers and staff of Regis University Student Health Services as appropriate.
•Must have a warm, outgoing personality with the ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with persons of all backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma/G.E.D. and some administrative experience are required. Professional communication skills, the ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and Outlook) are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Administrative experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
